THE SCHOOL OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT  

GENERAL INFORMATION 

Founded on 13 June 2007 in accordance with the decision of Council of Ministers, The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management started to accept students for the Department of Hospitality Management in the 2014-2015 academic year and for the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts in the 2016-2017 academic year. The School of Tourism and Hospitality Management has been established to provide qualified labor force with the highest intellectual and cultural knowledge, in addition to professional skills and to contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Turkey. Students gain professional skills and abilities with the support of application classes besides the compulsory internship program, 80 working days before graduation. The foreign language classes in the curricula give the opportunity to learn different languages and the students have the opportunity to work in domestic and abroad. The school also has the facilities for practical experience including a Practice Kitchen used to gain students a thorough insight into the operation and management of a professional kitchen and a Practice Restaurant for 52 persons to gain students experience on national and international cuisine as well as service techniques. Additionally, students are offered the opportunity of implementing theory into practice in the Multipurpose Hall Restaurant and a 168 bed Practice Hotel with 92 rooms located on the campus of Cumhuriyet University.
